Yesterday we posted starting a new phase in iBlogeek, commemorating the 3-year-blog. On anniversary of 2 years, we migrate the blog blogspot for a field itself, change the layout, rolled out version of the iPod / iPhone and created the forum.

To start presenting the news we now set our new channel: iBlogeek Wiki.

The iBlogeek Wiki is a portal based on Mediawiki, bringing the possibility of collaboration by users to add and edit content. Me and prepare a basic pH, which brings important information for both new arrivals in the universe of iPhone OS, as for the veteran.

Our idea is that you all can collaborate to build content, simply create a user. Thus, over time, we have a vast database of information on all aspects of iPods and iPhones.

Galera, we had some problems with errors 1600, 6 and 5 in iTunes 8 during the restore to the pHirmware. I just analyze everything here and realized that the problem was that iTunes does not check the pHirmware, then the iPod did not allow him to be rotated.

I just compile the final Ramdisk, already tested on 6 iPods and everything is Ok. We ask that you use iTunes 8 and, if possible, be with the iPod before restoring pwned by pHirmware

If you're pwned with the iPod, put it in Recovery Mode, hold Shift, click Restore and select the pHirmware 2.1.0.5 in iTunes 8.

Otherwise, place the iPod in DFU, hold Shift, click Restore and indicate the pHirmware.

For the MobileInstallation work, is necessary so that the iPod away from being pwned, install a free application, as the manual method of installing the MobileInstallation patched. The MobileInstallation is temporarily without work on some iPods because some incompatibilities of the patch and patch firmware that I made for installing pathway DFU the pHirmware in iTunes 8!

Three days, several night, many hours trying to break your head to discover what was the problem of our method of unlocking the pHirmware, which released the 2.1 firmware before the big hackers.

After much searching, we realized that the error was caused due to an instruction that Kernel read a portion of memory that was not to be read (the seczone) and for those who want more details, the statement was 0 × 8,600,000.

This error, caused some crazy boots any time during the iPod and occasionally entered the Recovery Mode Mode and then entered the WTF (a second mode DFU).

As we talk before, he has modified the MobileInstallation of "factory". MobileInstallation This is different from that normally used, the pHirmware a patch is done by us, which can be downloaded in iBlogeek.com to work in 2.1.x.

After a long time without giving any news about the Wikipedia.app, which lost its compatibility with the 2.0 firmware, again in focus in the project.

After a few months and several unsuccessful attempts, Patrick finally managed to carry the app for the new firmware. Because our focus is again free distribution of the projects that develop, we divide the path of development of app. Patrick Collison will make available its version of Wikipedia.app in App Store. The iBlogeek will provide, probably, as well as via Cydia. ZIP, for those who do not have WiFi

We will update the status wherever possible, we can not yet set a date, because we practically rewrite the source code of version 0.1 in the SDK, in addition to trying to carry the app completely for the Portuguese.

[UPDATE 14 / 9]: We are making some progress and, other than we imagine, we followed a different path: instead of using the SDK, we are using the toolchain and upgrading some stuff to 2.x version, since the 1.1 . x used as the basis Darwin 8 and 2.x uses Darwin 9. Moreover, much of the app was based on UIWebView. In version 2.x, the UIWebView was changed to the UIWebDocumentView. In addition, the LayerKit turned CoreAnimation and other libraries have changed. We have already made some changes in the source code and I am printing some parts of the code to understand some processes. Later I will compile toolchain for the iPhone (with 2.x firmware) on Mac OS 10.5 and continue with the port to the new version.

Hello's personal blog. After some time with the Ramdisk of firmware 2.1 for iPods touch, I found a flaw that remains the same as firmware 2.0.2 and adapted the pHirmware to run well in the new firmware.

What we have in the end, it is this here:

Firmware 2.1 running successfully on my iPod touch using pHirmware. Not everything was flowers, then I will tell you what happened.

This process of jailbreak worked perfectly on the first time, but after I installed a normal app, not crack (OpenSSH) iPod started to make some boots brahs and entered the DFU mode of nowhere.

For this reason, I still am not going to publish the pHirmware 2.1. While we await the perfect tool for you have a perfect 2.1 jailbreak.
