Connecting to the iPhone and iPod via USB or SSH
Today I'd make a nice tutorial for gamers with iPods and iPhones jaibroken, when I realized that before this it was necessary to talk a little about the connectivity between your computer and iPhone, to be able to transfer files. I could rescue some old tutorials, but some things have changed (and some programs too!). I know that the subject has already been widely discussed in several blogs, including here on the blog, via SFTP or USB , but I'm creating this link to link on my next tutorials, since many of them will use the method described in this post, as these recent tutorials have more or less two years.
Project notifications push for iPhones / jailbroken apps without using Apple's servers
I spent some time developing a project called Jailpush, which aims to send notifications to iPhone without using servers from Apple.
Port Android to the iPhone 3G is launching an imminent
The port the Android OS for the iPhone 3G is faster than I expected. Within days, planetbeing, with the help of other developments, managed to boot into a BusyBox / buildroot shell. As you can see in the picture below, the wifi is now working normally. Moreover, they managed to communicate with the baseband channel for debug. That may be enough to make calls, etc but we still need to understand the workings of some things before making it to become fully functional.
Understand how the iPhone to Android Could [Part 2 of 2]
In the first part of the story , I talked about the beginning of the Linux on the iPhone, which has the hacker planetbeing as protagonist. In the first months of June to October 2008, planetbeing, with the help of other hackers, achieved the following accomplishments:
- patching of NOR memory device,
- make the driver operate the LCD,
- develop the first version of the graphical openiboot,
- launch the iPhone in command line mode.
Even with these advances, still far from achieving a consolidated version of a new and functional operating system.
