Yeah, guys! 6 months without posting, several sleepless nights, completion of course work delivered and trained ... A lot has happened lately and I do not know that due attention (pardon the euphemism ...) to the blog. But I am writing today to say that we will probably start a new phase of posts. I came back to take a tempinho free, I continue with my iPod Nano (1) and 5, I bought a MacBook and I am buying an iPod Touch now! In this new phase of the blog, I will devote more to the innovations of the iPod Touch, and I will present methods and tutorials focused on two main operating systems: Mac OS X (10.5) and Windows (XP). For now it is, so how can I tell my HD iPod broke and I bought a defective iPod to repair it. Hugs!

Good staff, which now has tested the stability of the installation on my iPod 5G to 30GB, I can post here a safe method to install Linux on your iPod with the Loader2args, allowing the implementation of the famous emulators. Over time, I will describe how to install each emulator on your iPod.

In advance, please know that for a successful installation, you must use Windows XP (the system that I did the tests). Windows Vista still has many problems of compatibility, so if you are on a machine with Vista, I recommend you do the installation on another machine.

To install correctly using this tutorial, we need a restore on your iPod, then I recommend that you download the YamiPod. The YamiPod is freeware and requires no installation. To use it you need that iTunes is closed.
Select the files you want to back up (usually the videos are in UNKNOWN), then export to the folder on your computer.

After the backup, close the YamiPod, open iTunes and take a RESTORE. When the process is completed, close iTunes.

With the iPod formatted, open the folder iPod_Control (this folder is hidden, so it appears open Windows Explorer, go to Tools, Folder Options. Select the View tab, and in hidden files and folders, select the option Show hidden files and folders), then open the folder and click the Device 2 times in the sysinfo and open it with the notebook. Copy the following information in the file Sysinfo according to the information on your iPod, replacing the XXXXXXXXXXXX by serial of your iPod (found on the back of him). Save the file and exit Notepad.

DATA FOR ARCHIVE Sysinfo:

The iPod Nano from version 1.2 are the addition of firmware Nike iPod, so we can make mistake in the installation, that is, your iPod will not see the songs posed by iTunes. To fix the problem, use the sysinfo of the 5G iPods (30 or 60GB).

Download the file ipodlinux-installer-2.3w.zip the shared folder. Unzip the file and run the installer. It should detect your iPod. You should select the Loader2 in the installation options, and if you mark advanced options, you can select the modules to the podzilla2. When the installation finished, you can eject the iPod. He will restart itself and a blue screen should appear, so you choose the desired system. If that happens, the Loader2 was installed correctly. Return to the firmware from Apple, plug your iPod and play music for a test. If appears that your iPod is corrupt and iTunes does not detect it, do not worry. That happened to me and to repair just click the right mouse button over the corresponding drive to your iPod in My Computer, choose the format, verify that the items FAT32 and quick format are marked. After formatting, open iTunes and take a restore on your iPod, following the steps above to install, but this time leave it in Disk Mode (by pressing MENU SELECT and, once the apple of Apple appears, press SELECT PLAY ).

After learning how to install the emulators. In advance warning that you need to create a loader.cfg file in the root directory of your iPod to describe what the options that should appear in time of the boot. The process is simple, we need only the LTOOLS, you can download from the shared folder. To implement the LTOOLS. NET, it is necessary that you install the. NET Framework from Microsoft. So who wants to can already announce the installation of these programs.

Hugs and even the next!

Got run Idarcnes, tested 3 games: Super Mario 2, Super Mario 3 and Yo! Noid.

The Marios rodaram with normal speed, it was very good. The Yo! Noid was slow, but I believe that compliance should be improved in future versions. IBoy different from the Idarcnes has no menu, then you need to run directly from ROM Loader2. The Igamegear is also well.

When you have time I will go to the Igamegear and made my way here. The hardest is gone, which is installing the Loader2args. Soon you will see the result on their iPods!

Got install podzilla2 with Loader2 and Loader2args on my iPod 5G using a method much easier than I had achieved with the Nano last year. I will test the installation in the Nano and then I will post the full tutorial here on the blog.

Can you choose the modules of podzilla2 at the facility. Moreover, since installed and tested the iBoy. Now I am trying to get the Idarcnes to work. Then I will do the same with the Igamegear and Idoom.

If you have time, I try to install and wikipedia the podzilla2 get to run audio files.

When you have success, the tutorial post on the blog and a single file in the shared folder, containing all the necessary files. I remember that I will not (can not) give Roma. So that part you will have to turn in the good old google.

The tools I used to have been working iBoy leaving only the Installer_2 and LTOOLS. You only need to edit the file Sysinfo iPod, because the version 7 of iTunes modifies the file and leave it empty, making the Installer_2 not detect the version of the iPod. Very quiet, I do all the windows. I am doing some tests in Loader2args to optimize the Idarcnes.

I remember that you should not use Windows Vista, he still has many problems of compatibility. I had to uninstall Vista on my notebook and reinstall XP to get all the steps (and I do not want to go back to Vista).
